ELDRED TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS- NOTICE OF THE AVAILABILITY OF REMOTE ACCESS TO THE MEETING
The Eldred Township Board of Supervisors holds it's regular meetings on the third Wednesdays of each month at 7:00 P.M., at the Township’s Municipal Building,
490 Kunkletown Road, Kunkletown, PA. 18058, and virtually, as described below. The meetings are for general business purposes, and any business that may come
before the Board of Supervisors. The meetings are open to the public. Public participation at the meetings is welcomed. Members of the public may attend in-person at the Township Municipal Building or remotely through the same on-line internet application or telephone option. Information for remote connection is contained on this website on this page above.
If you are not able to attend the meeting, and would like to pose a general question or comment to the Board of Supervisors, or a question or comment regarding
any items listed on the Board’s agenda, please do one the following:
Email your question or comment to a.velopolcek@eldredtwp.org prior to 12:00 p.m. on the date of any scheduled meeting.
Send a letter with your question or comment to the Township Office via the USPS, or hand delivery, and we will respond to it upon receipt.
The Board’s agenda can be found at the Township’s website listed above, but is subject to revision both prior to, and at the time of the Board’s meeting.

Public Notice
In order to efficiently conduct necessary business at the Board of Supervisors meetings the Board of Supervisors has instituted a Public Speaking Policy.
This Policy gives guidance to individuals or groups about how to present information, concerns or questions to the Board during public meetings.

Re: Anticipated Vacancy – Township Supervisor
The Board is accepting letters of interest for the appointment of an individual to a vacancy in the office of Township Supervisor until end of business on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024.
Overview of the Office of Township Supervisor
Township Supervisors are elected to serve their residents and taxpayers. Township Supervisors fulfill their elected official duties by regularly attending, and actively participating in, meetings of the Board of Supervisors.
Township Supervisors should actively seek input from their residents and taxpayers, ask thoughtful questions of staff and advisory boards, be open-minded to new ideas, and work with their fellow Board members for the good of the Township. This may mean setting aside preconceived notions and sometimes taking an unpopular position that is in the best interests of the Township as a whole.
Minimum Qualifications:
To serve as a Township Supervisor, an individual must be a registered voter of the Township and must have resided in the Township for at least one (1) year before their election, or appointment, as the case may be. To qualify as a voter, a person must be 18 years of age and a resident of the Township. To continue serving as a Supervisor, an individual must retain residence within the Township.
Incompatible Offices:
A Supervisor may not hold any other elected Township office, serve as a school board member, or hold any elective county office. A Supervisor may not serve a
zoning officer in EldredTownship. A limited number of Supervisors can serve as members of the Township Planning Commission but are prohibited from becoming members of the Zoning Hearing Board. A supervisor may hold an appointed position within the township as long as the appointed position is not prohibited by law.
Interviews
Any interviews of the candidates or discussion of the qualifications of the applicants must take place in a public meeting.
Appointed Term
The appointed Supervisor will serve until the first Monday in January 2026.
