Eldred Township Public Works Department consists of a Supervisor, full time employees and a part time employee.
Of the over 55 miles of public roads in Eldred Township, the Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining approximately 34 miles. Those public roads not maintained by Eldred Township are the responsibility of Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
Maintaining the roads includes snow and ice removal in the winter, tar and chip installation, replacing pipes under Township Roads and removal of vegetation along Township Roads during the Spring, Summer and Fall. In addition to maintaining the roads, the Public Works Department is responsible for faciity repairs and grounds maintenance of all Township facilities, including the municipal building, ETCC,
Mock Park Fiddletown Road, the Historic Post Office and the Town Square.
The Public Works Supervisor assists the Board of Supervisors in oversight of Township infrastructure, obtaining quotes on construction projects and is the liaison for engineering matters for Township projects.
